裕靖節公殉難\n道光年間，靖節公(裕謙)由知府薦擢封圻，英銳任事，亦頗講求吏治。自禁鴉片煙之事起，英吉利陷定海踞之。於是林文忠公以兩廣總督被劾落職，而大學士文勤公(琦善)往代其任凸琦相力主和議，許以香港割畀英人，以易定海。是的，裕公已署兩江總督，每論時務，慷慨激發，堅持清議，疏糾琦相之咎，而推服林公甚至。廟謨亦已中變，褫琦相職，逮下刑部獄，命將分道出師，絡繹赴浙粵諸省。\n而裕公以欽差大臣馳抵鎮海視師，提督餘步云為之副。當是時，英人因與琦相議和，已讓定海，而盡調兵船南駛。朝廷遣總兵葛壯節公(雲飛)、王剛節公(錫朋)、鄭忠節公(國鴻)率師駐守。裕公所攜制兵四千，皆由各省分調，畸零湊集，號令不齊，且承平日久，未經訓練，實不耐戰。餘步雲尤惟怯巧滑，善結奧援，屢冒軍功，加太子少保。營外掘濠如淺溝，一孺子能逾之，遠近皆知其不足恃也。裕公駐鎮海城內，步雲駐招寶山。一日，裕公望見招寶山上有自旗，頗心疑之，乃勸步雲以竭誠報國，且與之盟。步雲偽稱足疾，勉強蒞盟。有一英人名峴哩，以舢板船擱淺，為浙民所擒。送至大營，裕公命生剝其皮，並抽其筋以為馬韁，呼號三日而後死，其聲慘厲異常。英人聞之，怒曰：“中國自命為守禮義之國，而酷虐不仁如此乎？”會廣東亦旋和旋戰，久無成議。英遂馳兵船復攻定海，陷之，三總兵同曰戰死。英兵進攻鎮海，用舢板船蟻附登岸，而餘步雲守招寶山之師先潰，諸營繼之。裕公自投泮池，水淺不得死。一武弁負之以趨，僱得小舟，僅與幕友陳若木、吳如渤二人退至寧波。寧波吏民皆已倉皇驚擾，莫之省者。裕公自登舟，即吞金，堅臥不語。陳，吳二幕友，亦惟恐裕公之急切不能遽死。次日黎明，舟過慈溪縣城，幕友往艙中撫之，已冰。皆喜曰：“公薨矣!”遂往告縣令殯殮之。餘步雲始奏稱退守寧波，而英人陷寧波。步雲奏稱退守上虞，且言裕謙大營先潰，以致各營相繼奔逃。復奏言：“聞裕謙率其幕友家丁，舟過慈溪，不知所往。”於是宣宗皇帝諭旨，嘆恨用人之難，謂柔懦無能者既憤事，而剛果有為者復鮮效也。陳若木者，以字行，宜興人，習刑名，痛裕公之為步雲所賣也，乃代裕公夫人草訴冤之辭，遣裕公舊僕赴都察院呈遞，而步雲始奉旨逮問。然步雲供辭狡展，又素邇聲氣，朝貴多隱為之地者，獄久不定，將待以不死矣。刑部尚書李莊肅公(振祜)堅執不允，加以刑訊。步雲畏李公之威，一一吐實，不敢復有所隱。讞既上，得旨步雲正法，而裕公亦獲優恤，建祠予諡’飾終之典隆焉。若木由是名聞江南，凡兩江總督到任，必卑辭厚幣，敦請入幕，為上賓者數十年。\n## 蒲城王文恪公屍凜\n道光中，林文忠公(則徐)以欽差大臣馳赴廣東查禁鴉片煙，與英吉利兵船相持海上，宣廟倚任甚至。既而中變，命大學士直隸總督琦善馳往查辦’嚴劾林公，革職遣戍新疆，盡撤守備，與英吉利講和。於是輿論譁然，皆罵琦善之誤國\n及宰相穆彰阿之妨賢，而惜林公之不用也。其後河決祥符，上命大學士蒲城王文恪公(鼎)臨塞決口，亦命林公赴工效力。\n蒲城一見林公，傾誠結納，且言還朝必力薦之。及大工合龍，朝命林公仍往新疆。蒲城還朝，力薦林公之賢，上不聽。","is_preview":true,"preview_page_limit":10}
